Local / Regional / National

There are local, regional and national special events and workshops that occur throughout the year.  In general, all events and workshops are open to all members.  Some designated workshops may be specified as “Instructor Training” events, meaning that only recognized instructors can register for the workshops.  Most instructor activities are member-only events.  All other events are open to the public and have a non-member fee associated with the event.

Participating in an Event or Workshop

For most special events and workshops, you should be enrolled in an Introduction to Tai Chi course to start to learn the Tai Chi set.  New Introduction to Tai Chi classes start every month in various locations around the city.  Most events and workshops are suitable for new students.  If you are not sure if the event is right for you, please speak with your instructor.  The best way to become aware of upcoming special events and workshops is to subscribe to the London Branch newsletter – The Plum Blossom News.

Registering for an Event or Workshop

Members can register for local events through the members login.  Events and workshops that have a cost associated with them, can be paid through the online store.  Be careful to select either the member or non-member option for the event.  Participation fees for the event or workshop can be pre-paid to your instructor, online or at the event. Fees can only be paid by credit card through the online store.  You can also pay by Interact e-transfer to info@LondonTaiChi.ca. We also accept cash and personal cheques.

Participation Fees

Many of the events that are organized locally are free for members and are included in your monthly membership dues.  Some events will ask for a small contribution to help cover costs for the event and/or to fund raise for a special project.  Suggested contributions are always discretionary, you should not feel any obligation to contribute.

Donations

As a registered national charity, the Canadian Tai Chi Academy can accept monetary gifts and issue a tax receipt.  The local group periodically initiates fund-raising efforts to collect money towards a special expense to support the growth of our group in the community (i.e. promotional activities, special event costs, etc.).

We are active in fundraising for other charitable groups in our community such as: Men’s Mission, My Sisters Place, London Food Bank and many others.
